Safe Work Month 2009 - Programme of events

We invite you to put your hand up for Safe Work Month 2009, South Australia’s major programme of occupational health, safety and welfare (OHSW) related events.

More than 250 FREE workshops and events will be held from 4 to 30 October, with a full week dedicated to each of three South Australian regional areas, concluding with the fi nal week in metropolitan Adelaide and the gala presentation of the 2009 Safe Work Awards.

This event has been tailored to meet the needs of employers, employees, contractors, health and safety representatives (HSRs) and OHSW professionals ... in fact anyone interested in safe, fair, productive working lives.

The A to Z of focus areas will be covered: everything from aquaculture and accident investigation to wine tank safety and work life balance. Sessions will offer valuable information and advice to suit everyone, with a spotlight on priority risks and industries, or occupations where the incidence of injury is particularly high.

We encourage you to get involved in Safe Work Month 2009 and make safety a priority in your workplace. You too could be joining the 80% of last year’s attendees surveyed who said they would be likely to make workplace changes based on the information they received.

Safe Work Month supports Safe Work Australia Week and is presented by the SafeWork SA Advisory Committee in partnership with SafeWork SA, SA Unions, Business SA and WorkCoverSA.
